Iatrou building

opseis1_v10_v8_v10_2.jpgCHS’s Nafplion Annex functions as a base of operations for Harvard faculty and students conducting research and participating in educational programs in Greece.

The Municipality of Nafplion committed to CHS‘s landmark project by offering the historic first town hall as the facility for CHS’s Annex in Greece.  The old town hall,  also known as the Iatrou Building, faces the town’s port and stands as a testament to neoclassical architecture. The building was renovated by the Municipality of Nafplion in cooperation with the CHS’s group of experts.

The Annex’s building provides a wide range of research and educational facilities. The heart of the building is the ‘Mazarakis’ conference hall located on the ground floor, which places CHS’s Annex at the forefront of distance learning and research. Its cutting edge videoconferencing equipment provides a vital link between Greece and Harvard University.

The first floor is fully equipped with state of the art computers and broadband internet connection, allowing easy access to Harvard online resources and publications, whereas the second constitutes a multipurpose area containing ample studying space.
